Add full paths as tool tips in the "Open Recent" menu. This is the option that solved this similar problem I had with MikTex when I was installing it on a different. I think the reason has to do with the fact that MikTex is not giving me the option pdfLaTex+MakeIndex+TexWorks. Fix a deadlock causing TeXworks to hang when loading PDF annotations such as links. I have installed the new MikTex in a new computer and it does not work. Disable "Remove Aux Files" during typesetting Implement handling of links to external files in the PDF preview. Prevent concurrent typesetting in multi-file sources. 
Improve preservation of Unicode characters during loading/saving. Now the compiler should run without any errors and the preview of the PDF. Be sure that you select pdfLaTeX in the select box next to the green compile button. On the top left you can press the green button to compile the template. Kind regards sniper Hello, where do you find the way 'Tools->Settings->file formats. Finally you want to see the template working so you need to open the file thesis.tex with the TeXworks editor. 
At the point viewer there stands 'pdfview'.
